there’s no such thing as ‘too many cooks in the kitchen’

erm, you people know about all the genre mixing going on in music, right?

For example, Drake is mixing hip hop lyrical womanizing with r&b smooth jams.  I realized this when I was listening to “Every Girl” and I found myself waiting for him to holler at me….in descriptive terms.  you know, long black hair, big booty, thick lips…that doesn’t even decribe me, but it might someday.

The point is that genre-mixing happens every day, and I see it everyday and I hear it everywhere.

But when I came across this little lewd gem, I said WHOA out loud.  I just wanted everyone (in my office) to know that ground is being broken at levels and locales the world over.  We live in a international, transnational culture.  If your scene is only the 30 mile radius of your home, you’re missing out.

I was about to buy this book once that was supposed to tell me how the concept of globalization is a failure or lie, but it accidentally dropped behind the bookshelf.  In the store.  I’m serious.  It was an accident and the only copy.  But it was meant to be because globalization is a true story.  so reading that book would be a waste of money and time and an exercise in futility.

Here’s my proof.

This is a DJ Hell (label International DJ Gigolo, from Germany, responsible for Electroclash/ 80s revival/ Italo Disco in the 90s, mouth-watering and lusty) who designed the undies that were made by Wendy & Jim (Austrian designers) and the collection and these photographs were originally used to promote the Wendy&Jim + DJ Hell collaboration and store release during Berlin Fashion Week this year PLUS P. Diddy who requires no introduction.

In my mind, italo disco/techno/pure electro is at the opposite end of the musical spectrum from hip-hop, Diddy-style nonetheless.  Its rare to find people who like both straight rap and electro.  Or people who know P. Diddy that also know DJ Hell.  Usually the fans of each are of separate demographics and different places on the globe.  But here are the artists together, making a masterpiece. Ingredients? equal parts DJ Hell and Diddy, both bringing it hard.

yours,

R

P.S. I feel like I should ‘apologize’ for the lasciviousness of the video, but I see more pene driving to work everyday.
